Who needs to have to deal with disposing dead mice caught in poison-bated traps? Who wants their children and pets to accidently find those traps? Keep your family safe and your home rodent-free with this innovative product.
The Victor® Mini Sonic PestChaser® emits high frequency sound waves that effectively repel rodents from protected areas. For use in average-sized rooms, kitchens, garages, attics and basements.
The sound is completely inaudible to people and non-rodent pets. Varying intensity and frequencies of ultrasonic sound waves prevents rodents from getting used to the Victor® Mini Sonic PestChaser®. Since the sound is inaudible, a red LED light tells you the unit is working properly.
It's kinder than traps, safer than poisons, and there are no dead rodents to dispose of so it minimises human contact with mice, rats, and other disease-bearing rodents.
Reduction in rodent activity should occur within 6-10 days. Estimated service life of the unit is 5-7 years or more.
Note: Ultrasonic sound cannot penetrate furniture, cabinets or walls. Multiple units required for multiple rooms.
How Ultrasound Works
Ultrasound works in a frequency range that cannot be heard by the human ear. Humans normally hear sound waves within a range of 20 - 20,000 cycles per second. Dogs and cats have an audible range of up to 27,000 cycles per second. Other animals are capable of hearing at an even higher audible range. The cycles heard per second are also known as "Hertz", Hz for short. Ultrasound has frequencies of over 20,000 Hertz, or 20 kHz. This product produces waves at an audible frequency of 32 - 62 kHz, well above the range of human hearing ability as well as that of domestic animals such as cats, dogs, birds and fish. However, rodents find sound at this frequency very unpleasant and will avoid it if at all possible. Even if these high frequencies are technically referred to as a form of sound, an ultrasound wave spreads itself much more like light than like the sound coming from your radio. Music from a stereo can, for example, fill the entire house and - when the volume is high enough — can be heard through closed doors or maybe even by the neighbours. Ultrasound cannot go through solid materials and cannot be heard in more than just the one room it is being emitted from. Compare a loudspeaker with a flashlight. That's how ultrasound is spread. It is dispersed in a conform manner and provides a sound shade behind permanent objects like furniture, having little effect in other rooms. Ultrasound is reflected by hard surfaces while being absorbed by soft surfaces. In a room with mostly hard surfaces, like a kitchen, ultrasound bounces around and provides a more effective form of protection than in a room with mostly soft surfaces, like a bedroom.

Victor® PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellents - Expert Tips
- Location, Location, Location
First, identify a room that has signs of rodent activity. Rodents are nocturnal creatures, which mean they rarely surface during the daytime.
- Use Multiple Units
Ultrasonic waves behave more like light than sound. For example, music from your stereo can fill your entire house. Ultrasound cannot penetrate any solid surface (walls, floors, ceilings) or travel around corners. This is why you need a unit for each room.
- Monitor Rodent Activity
Monitoring the signs of rodent activity will allow you to correctly place the units in high-frequency areas and allow you to direct the unit towards their entry points.
- Use In Conjunction With Other Controls
Ultrasonic devices should not be used alone to control an established infestation.
Victor® PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellents - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does Ultrasound work?
A: Ultrasound is a frequency of sound too high to be heard by humans. The Victor® PestChaser® sweeps a frequency of 32-62 kHz. Rodents find this sound irritating and will avoid it if possible. more»
Q: How does Ultrasound affect rodents?
A: Ultrasound can repel rodents by subjecting them to intense auditorystress. This method is a classic animal behavior modification technique. more»
Q: What are the most common mistakes people made with repellents?
A: Ultrasound Alone to Control Infestation: The most common repellent mistake is using ultrasound units alone to control an established infestation. more»
Q: Does ultrasound kill rodents?
A: No. Ultrasound creates an acoustically unfriendly environment that rodents tend to avoid, if possible. more»
Q: How long do you have to wait until the product takes effect?
A: Allow 2- 4 weeks for the ultrasound's waves to affect rodents that have access to food in the product's range. more»
Q: Can ultrasound have an effect on rodents in walls?
A: No. Ultrasound cannot go through solid/permanent materials. Should you have problems with rodents in walls or under the floor, contact your local rodent exterminator. more»
Q: About how much surface area does the device cover?
A: The sound from one unit covers an average space of a furnished room measur¬ing 40 sqm. To cover several rooms, you'll need to use several devices. more»
Q: How do you know if the product is working?
A: Once the product has been plugged into an electrical socket, a red LED light comes on and a weak buzz can be heard from the loudspeaker. This buzzing sound indicates that the loudspeaker is creating the high frequency sound necessary to scare away the rodents. more»
Q: Are other electrical devices affected?
A: No, this unit has no effect on pacemakers, door openers or other electronic devices. more»
